DIRECTOR SERGIO DÍAZ OCHOA Morelia, Michoacán, México Born in Morelia, Michoacán, in 1994, he’s a director and screenwriter whose work has gained recognition both in Mexico and internationally. In 2017, he participated in a filmmaking workshop during the Mexico-Germany dual year, led by Angela Schanelec and Helena Wittmann at the Academy of Fine Arts Hamburg (HFBK). His short films have been showcased at festivals such as the Morelia International Film Festival and Shorts México, as well as at events in Germany, Austria, and Italy. He also directed the first Spanish adaptations of Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s radio plays for the Radio Fassbinder series by Radio Educación and the Goethe-Institut Mexiko. He has worked as a casting director on films for production companies such as Amondo Cine, Cárcava Cine, Mandarina Cine, and Fidelio Films. Currently, he is developing the script for his first feature film as a recipient of the 2025 Young Creators Grant.
