DIRECTOR JADEBETH BELBE Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua Jadebeth is a trans woman from Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, Mexico. From an early age, she felt a deep fascination with the world of cinema, inspired by her parents, who enjoyed movies, telenovelas, and TV series. This early passion led her to join acting classes, theater groups, and performance workshops as she grew up, determined to pursue a professional career in acting in all its forms and expressions. Over time, she moved to Morelia, Michoacán, where she spent two years training as an actress. When she felt ready to take a bigger step in her artistic journey, she relocated to Mexico City. It was there that she began her gender transition, without ever losing sight of her professional goals. She completed her acting studies at the Mexican Association of Independent Filmmakers (AMCI), solidifying her training as a performer. She is currently a member of ALTRAFILMICA, an independent creative and cinematic space, where she continues to grow not only as an actress but also as a filmmaker and audiovisual creator. Today, Jadebeth is dedicated to developing her own projects that explore the trans experience, told through her personal lens and driven by the desire to challenge and transform Mexican society’s taboos surrounding trans women.
