DIRECTOR FANIE SOTO Guadalajara, México Screenwriter with a degree in Audiovisual Arts from the Department of Image and Sound at the University of Guadalajara. Active since 2017, she won first place in the 13th national screenwriting competition for female authors and film adapters, "Matilde Landeta A.C." 2018, with the script "Cosas Imposibles", a film released in mid-2021 directed by Ernesto Contreras. She has also benefited from direct support for storylines from the Mexican Institute of Cinematography, as well as from the "Jóvenes Creadores" grant from the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA). In 2022, she was a jury member for the national scriptwriting support contest of the Mexican Film Institute, as well as for the Guanajuato Film Festival and various student festivals. She has written series and films such as: "Papá o mamá", a VIDEOCINE comedy to be released in theatres in 2023, "La Flor más bella" series for the Netflix platform (2022), as well as the series for Paramount+, "Tengo que morir todas las noches", awarded at the European festival Séries Mania. She recently released her first short film as a writer and director entitled "Patrona". She is currently collaborating on different projects for film and various streaming platforms.
